The point value of each hand is determined by the value designated on the NMJL card.

10 points to each player for a wall game, EXCEPT for players who have been called dead.

0 (zero) points to players who have been declared dead.

0 (zero) points to player throwing Mahj to player who has 0 exposures.

+10 Points if player picks own Mahjong.

+20 Points for all hands made jokerless, EXCEPT for singles and pairs.

-10 points to player throwing Mahj to player who has 1 exposure.

-20 points to player throwing Mahj to player who has 2 exposures.

-25 points to player throwing Mahj to player who has 3 exposures.

-25 points to player who misnames tile that is then called for Mahjong.

55 minutes is given to complete each round of 4 games. Any game(s) not complete within the 55 minutes will automatically result in a score of 0 (zero) for each player.

If Mahj is declared in error by any player, and other player(s) then expose their hands before Mahj has been verified, all players who exposed, including the false Mahj, receive 0 (zero) points and are dead. Any remaining players who DID NOT EXPOSE, will continue the game as usual; if ONLY ONE player remains, said player will receive 10 points.

After each game, East will write down the scores for each player on the Master Score Card. The other players will initial their score on the Master Score Card confirming their score is correct. West will initial for East’s personal score. The Master Score Card is turned in to the Director by West at the conclusion of each Round.

Each player is responsible for checking that their score is correct on the Master Score Card as compared to their Personal Score Card. Discrepancies may be reviewed at the end of any Round by a Director.
